June 13-14, 2019. The Provincial Cooperative Affairs Office of Nueva Vizcaya tapped the Department of Science and Technology to be a training providers on Food Safety to some food processors in the province.
“Ang training na ito ay hindi lamang para sa inyong organisasyon, bagkus mas higit para sa inyo at sa inyong pamilya dahil araw-araw po tayo naghahanda ng pagkain.” This was expressed by Ms. Aileen Constantino Gonzales, SRS 2 and the Focal Person of the Food Safety Program of DOST R02, during the opening program.
She discussed the topics like Basic Food Hygiene, Food Safety Hazards & Good Manufacturing Practices in the two-day training conducted.
In addition, Ms. Florita D. Sinot, PA 1, PSTC NV, presented the Small Enterprise Technology Upgrading Program or SETUP. This would encourage the participants to increase their productivity thru upgrading of existing technology.
“Indeed, this training is essential to every food maker…” remarked by one of the participants during the closing program.
During the closing message, Mr. Arturo Palapox, the OIC Provincial Cooperative Office at that time, ended his message with this: “Inaabot kayo ng gobyerno kaya sana kayo din, iabot ninyo ang inyong mga kamay sa gobyerno sa pamamagitan ng pagsasagawa ng inyong mga natutunan sa mga pagsasanay katulad nito…”
